"Guerrilla War" arcade conversion to the Amstrad CPC - review and longplay!

Another coin-op licence from Imagine Software, this curious game was essentially another "Ikari Warriors" from SNK (same gameplay and rotating joysticks but beefed up action and graphics) but the protagonists were Che Guevara and Fidel Castro! At least in the Japanese version, but fearing anti-Communist sentiments in the West it was rebranded from "Guevara" to "Guerrilla War".

So how does the Amstrad version get on with rotating characters? Fine if you've got an emulator to redefine the keys!! Surprisngly though for a 'run and gun' game with the limitations they rightly forced a more sedate pace making you plan your moves and pick off your enemies - rushing through the game will quickly lead to you being killed often!

Great music from Jonathan Dunn as always.
