This song bugs the heck out of me, because I swear I know this song, but I can't remember where I heard it first.

So in January, MatPat announced he's stepping back from his Theorists Channels, and that made me....surprisingly sad.
(We're off to a great start, 2024.) Unlike most of the people making goodbye videos, I can't claim he was a part of my childhood. I only discovered his stuff within the past 2 years, but I found his personality agreeable. Like a slightly off-kilter Mr. Rogers. He felt like someone I want to be friends with, and I'm going to miss his enthusiasm.

Why am I talking about this? Because (I think) in one video, he dropped that he attended Duke University. And given that he seems to have more than a passing familiarity with anime, I was very curious if the DukAnime club was still around or if he knew Hsien Lee. Many videos later, it became clear that MatPat is (probably) several years younger than Hsien Lee, so there probably wasn't any overlap.

Yes, my brain is creepy. But I know what boundaries are. I take that ick and bury it deep inside, where it gives me heartburn.
