In this video, I kill the wither boss on easy using only unenchanted iron armor and tools, an unenchanted bow, and no potions or buffs.

Then, I kill the wither boss on hard difficulty with potions and a super golden apple, although using an unenchanted bow and unenchanted diamond sword and armor.

If I had used enchanted items, the fight would have been much easier and faster, but the key to the successful fights were the floating cobblestone grid. Should I redesign the grinder, the middle layer would have 2 cobble generators powering it, not the bottom layer. Also, the generator would be behind the grid instead of beside it. It is possible to use dispensers to shoot arrows at the boss from between the gaps in the grid, but I find this unnecessary. On easy difficulty, this design is foolproof, but on hard difficulty, it is a bit harder to control the movements of the wither, but to mention his random blockbreaker projectiles. Overall, with the proper preparations, this design is much more effective than any other grinder that I've seen. It can be much more overdone, but I wanted to build one that is effective in survival mode. This grinder in survival would take roughly 2 hours to build, and is far more effective than anything else I have seen.
