The drone does not have auto-tracking features , unfortunately , hence the jerkiness. It was best to not get too close lest the turbulence from the propellers interfered but at least the zoom function helped bring things in closer for viewing. There were no updrafts on that day as far as I could tell ; so how is this possible? Short answer: some kind of theoretical electrostatic anti-gravity tapping into the electrical charge always present in the atmosphere.
