An Off Topic Video - Tencent, Blizzard and the Hong Kong Protests Heathstone Controversy
This is somewhat of an off-topic newspost, but it's the biggest scandal in gaming at the moment and there's some tenuous connections to Path of Exile through the majority owner of GGG, Tencent Holdings Limited.
It is in no way a new direction for the channel, which will continue to be about Path of Exile news and analysis.
The scandal relates to Blizzard retalliating against Heathstone champion player Ng Wai Chung, known in esports circles as Blitzchung, for him using his post-tournament interview to support the anti-Government protests in Hong Kong.
Here's my thoughts.
Full disclaimer:
I'm a political person but this isn't a political channel, it's about a game not my ideas.
I'm trying to keep this neutral and to explain views I don't agree with fairly, but as anyone that knows me IRL would know, I'm from the radical left, and I support the HK protests unconditionally.
My politics undoubtedly influence the video in places, so please check other sources from all sides before making up your mind.
Additionally my sources undoubtedly have their own agendas. I've done my best to identify bias and adjust for it, but I will have missed some.
