An Update Is Being Prepared for Your Device, But It’s Not Quite Ready Yet FIX.
When I tried to run Windows Update on an old laptop that had not been updated for a long time, for one of the updates I received the following error message. I did wait for a day, restarted the PC and tried again, but it did not help:
An update is being prepared for your device, but it’s not quite ready yet. We’ll keep trying, or you can try again now.
There was also a Retry button, which did not really help me. In this post, we will share how you can fix the problem and update Windows.
The first thing that comes to mind when someone mentions Windows 10 issues are the infamous updates problems.
Since the introduction of Windows 10 (Windows as a service), we encountered a sea of various update errors, including the one we’ll try and address today.
This error is distinguished from other since it comes without the code.
It’s, more or less, an informative prompt saying ”An update is being prepared for your device, but it’s not quite ready yet. We’ll keep trying, or you can try again now”.
