This video is crazy long, and 99% of people will NOT want to watch it. I give demonstrations of how my mini ITX build is coming along, and I discuss what my current and future plans are for it. Believe me, when I say I get it, if you don't want to watch a video that's this long. (but some people will, believe it or not) Also, I go on terrible tangents, during this video. So you've been warned: This video is borderline awful.

Anyway, if you want to know the gist of the video, I can tell you, in this description box.

I will be doing "two" Mini ITX builds, but it will really end up being "four builds. I'm trying both Z170 and Z97, in both, a Silverstone ML08B-H case and a Fractal Node 202 case. I am also trying to rig extra fans into the cases, that the manufacturers never intended anyone to rig into them.

I am doing this, because I want truly no compromise gaming. I want to use a slim and small case, with a full sized desktop graphics card, and I want the machine to be cool and quiet, and I want there to be no thermal throttling. So... Small computer, without any compromises.

I am not entirely stupid, so I do know that a different mini ITX case would be better. The slim cases really make water cooling an impossible option. (unless you cut the cases) And having such a small case be air cooled can lead to the temperatures being hot.

With all that said... I think I'm going to achieve my goal, with these builds. One, or both of them, will end up being quiet and powerful, and up to any task I throw at it. This video explains what I've run into so far, and how I plan to tackle it. (it's still a long video, and I go on some pretty ridiculous tangents)

In case you're wondering how I end up on the aforementioned tangents, I do my videos, without editing them, and I talk to the audience, while things are loading, or while I'm waiting for the computer components to reach certain temperatures. Like I said... Some people like these videos, but they're usually not good for a mainstream audience.

Special Note: I have said many times that it would be simpler and cheaper to use the stock cooler, for the 4690K. I even say that, just below this paragraph. However: It should be noted that using the stock cooler can see the CPU hit 80 degrees, even when it is NOT overclocked. I have read forums saying that is a dangerous temperature to allow the 4690K to remain at, for extended periods of time. I have mixed feelings on this, to be honest. In short... It would not be responsible for me to recommend any of you to use the stock cooler, knowing that it allows the CPU to run so hot. With that said... While I cannot recommend it, it is a cheaper and simpler solution. I just do not recommend it. (hopefully, all of that makes sense)

Also, for clarity: It would be simpler and cheaper to use the stock cooler for this CPU and a reference GTX 1070 (Founder's Card). This is just some hair brained process I wanted to try out with the GTX 1060.

Also, a note: After I stopped recording the video, I let the game and system run for another 20 minutes, and the temperatures did not go up.

Since finishing this video, I have installed the Noctua CPU cooler and experimented with overclocking the CPU. So far, if I do NOT overclock the CPU, I can have a quieter machine, which was one of the goals of this video. But... I will be trying to see if I can overclock the CPU and still enjoy a quieter computer. This will be a process to sort out. The next video will be a much shorter one, talking about how much quieter I made the system and how far I could push the CPU.
