During the most recent Nintendo Direct, the announcement that got me the most excited was Super Mario Bros. Wonder, the first 2D mainline Mario game since New Super Mario Bros. U in 2012. The UI alone caught my eye, as it helps immediately sell this game as a completely different take on 2D Mario than the previous New Super Mario Bros. games we've seen for over 15 years. So today I thought I'd analyze the UI from what we've seen so far in the trailer Nintendo showed us recently.
