Andrew McCutchen burst onto the scene in 2009 making an immediate impact to the Pirates for seven years including winning the 2013 National League (NL) MVP award the only one since Barry Bonds departure in 1992 for the San Francisco Giants. He gave the Pirates hope in his relatively brief stint en route to Posteason berths in 2013 through 2015 where they hadn't since since 1992 and have not been in the eight years since. He has returned and a wily veteran at age of 36 to help the youth of Pittsburgh back to winning ways. It will not happen this season but we look back at how he became NL MVP.
