2Angry Birds 2 is a 2015 puzzle video game developed by Rovio Entertainment and is the twelfth game in the Angry Birds series, and is the direct sequel to the original Angry Birds. It is a free-to-play with optional purchases for in-game currency. The gameplay features three new birds named Silver, Melody, and Jo, as well as a playable pig, named Leonard, a new ability for Red, spells instead of power-ups and gameplay that occurs in multi-stage levels. It was soft-launched in Canada on March 5, 2015, as Angry Birds Under Pigstruction, released for iOS and Android worldwide on July 30, 2015, and the name was changed to Angry Birds 2. Angry Birds 2 became available on HarmonyOS on June 29, 2021.
Reception for Angry Birds 2 was mixed. While praise was given for the game's enhanced graphics and gameplay, criticism was given to the implemented energy system that detracts playability compared to previous games.
At the Cobalt Plateaus, while the Angry Birds are sleeping, a Minion Pig approaches and steals their eggs, replacing them with sand bags. However, as he is about to leave, it is too late, as the Angry Birds have already spotted him, so the Minion Pig tries to escape with the eggs. Facing multiple obstacles and birds, despite the odds, he somehow manages to survive, and hops onto an airship with other Minion Pigs and King Pig on it. The latter, having finally managed to get the eggs, laughs at the birds and leaves with the eggs. Enraged, the Angry Birds (from Red's perspective), launch and start to chase the pigs, rescuing other partners in the adventure, who join them.
