Anima Flux is an intense co-op metroidvania where two genetically enhanced soldiers—special agents of a theocratic dictatorial regime—must fight their way through swarms of mutants in a desolate, dystopian space city. As humanity’s last stronghold faces imminent destruction, the question remains: can anyone still be saved?
This unique twist on the classic metroidvania genre delivers a thrilling couch co-op adventure, with each character evolving in different ways as the game progresses. Players will explore grim and dangerous locations on the space ark, rescue their partner from ambushes, or fight off injuries to survive together. With dangerous mutants and intense boss fights, players will have to build their own strategies as a team. And the best part—if your partner isn't around, you can seamlessly switch to single-player mode.
The story is set in a highly detailed world brought to life with stunning hand-drawn animated cutscenes and dialogue rich in dark humor. It’s an immersive experience that delves into the lives of intriguing supporting characters, revealing a future world where moral and ethical questions haunt the mind. Players will search for the truth amidst incredible twists and turns, all while experiencing the retro sci-fi aesthetics inspired by 80s and 90s artistry. The visuals fuse futuristic 2D designs with a dark, cosmic atmosphere that makes every moment stand out.
Developed by Avantaj Prim SRL, a team based in the Republic of Moldova, Anima Flux is a labor of passion from a core team of twelve members, including game designers, artists, animators, C# programmers, and community managers. Sound design for the game features a Moldovan composer, bringing every detail to life. The project has also received support from JollyCo LLC, a partner based in Miami, Florida, who is handling the game’s US representation.
