So uh yeah, Animorphs is probably one of the most misunderstood/underrated book series of all time, imo, and also one of my favorites of all time, also.
Pretty much should have been released as a young adult series considering the content in it (graphic descriptions of gore, killing in nearly every book, cold blooded murder, suicide, racism, mental and physical torture, genocide, fratricide, attempted patricide and matricide, main characters slowly going insane, and much more)
Outside of all of that too, it does actually have a pretty good storyline: too bad the Nickelodeon series and the games for the series completely downplayed this and made most of the public think the book was just as bad.
(And no I am not a furry and liking this series does not make you a furry: come on, now. You all watched Sesame Street growing up, does that make you all furries? lol)
