Animators Over 40: Burnt Out or PUSHED Out?
Careers in the animation industry don't often last past age 40, according to vets on animation insider site Cartoon Brew. The primary reason cited is burnout, followed by cost cutting as older employees simply command higher salaries. So what is a displaced middle aged animation industry veteran to do? Many are leaving studios like Disney and Dreamworks and starting their own studios... and taking their decades of experience with them.
