The first ever Anime Speedtune in America, and what an incredible experience! With over 53000 fans, ANYC 2021 was the largest anime convention that Speedtune has ever been held at! The audience was the most raucous and enthusiastic I've ever seen!

Attendance was beyond expectations. The room could hold only 270 fans, and at least 100 had to be turned away. As there was no time for a qualifier, players were chosen randomly through a ticket lottery. The board's difficulty was adjusted to be slightly easier overall, as player skill levels were varied.

I want to specifically give a shout out to Anime NYC for their awesome accommodation. Even though it was their first event, they provided individual microphones for each player, which no other convention has done. There was a nice big monitor for the players, and staff allowed me to do setup and check before showtime. I can't wait to be back next year!

NEW RULE: Medleys may now be berserked. The medley must be aced, and the bonus is +10 points, not double points, as it's easier to ace a medley than score in a regular topic. Choosers shouldn't berserk their own medley, as the chooser bonus ends up being the same. But this is an option for non-choosers if they feel very confident.
