Another failed 500% Geo Mode Speedrun (Any grade with loads)
76 months ago I have decided to speedrun a 500% Geo Mode file just to see how fast I can get the 500%, seeing that I was really close to sub 2 hours on my last run, I decided to try again to see if I can do it now.
Unfortunately.... I have failed once again, my three deaths did eat up some time, especially Aces and Saltbaker but even if I didn't die once this run would still not be sub 2 hours, I just simply didn't kill some of the bosses fast enough, although I majorly improved on many bosses such as Glumstone, Mortimer, Brineybeard and more where I killed them 20-30+ seconds faster than last time with also having almost every boss a bit of a better time (Excluding the likes of Aces and Dr. Kahl), I still need to improve my time even more on the other bosses, Baroness for example even though the time on this run is much better than the last one I still need to improve it because she's one of the bosses that was done slower, Rumor could have been done better too I think if I used Charge instead of Chaser on both. I had a few brain farts too which are also responsible for losing time on sub 2 hours, such as Esther and KD and I yet did the same mistake I did on the last one as I did on this run... forgetting Werner Werman for the Divine Relic... I should probably also pick a different boss for Divine Relic instead of R&C, that Slot Machine Phase takes up quite some time.
Man, many mistakes in this run which have costed me my possible sub 2 hours. One thing I need to do is bench the Chaser for the Chargeshot for Baroness and Rumor (I think Chaser has the upper hand for Saltbaker and Phantom Express though) and as you all know I HATE the Chargeshot SO DAMN MUCH! LEAST FAVORITE SHOT IN THE GAME AND I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE USING IT! But... I'm gonna have to use it on more bosses while also having to use it more effectively if I wanna sub 2 hours, I just hate how it's used and I feel like the charge is just too damn slow, I also cannot afford any deaths or restarts either, same with brainfarts, infact I completely forgot that after Robot you do Werner Werman which is unlocked after beating Rugged Ridge, oh and Djimmi wishes can only be used three times regardless on where you use it on, thought you could use it 3 times in main game and 3 times in DLC even without beating the final bosses but nope... doesn't work like that. I completely forgot that and I shouldn't have done Sally Stageplay first, I need to remember the order of things I should do them in in order to increase my chances, and Divine Relic... gotta remember Isle 3 and 4 bosses only give 3 points, not 4, that's Devil and Saltbaker, and I need a replacement for R&C... thinking about Cagney since I have Goopy PTSD now and can get you if unlucky and Hilda... well I hate her way too much so I'll probably do Cagney instead nextime, oh and praying to my future self to not forget to do Werner Werman again for the Divine Relic after beating him in Geo, as I said I make that mistake twice now, also gotta remember to pick the correct difficulty aswell. One last thing is... ditch the SA2... while it does help defensively it hurts your offense so yeah... gonna do no Super Art or SA1 nextime (Excluding Briney... I think we can use SA2 on him...). Also apologies about the beginning where it's missing me entering the save file, I guess I pressed the start button too early before it started to record which made me lose that part, oh well.
... it's gonna be a long time before I try a sub 2 hour Geo again, I'm pooped from speedrunning again and another thing worth noting is I don't speedrun, I literally can't do that and I hate speedrunning, I just don't have that special bone in my body to speedrun. Well, I learned a lot more when I did this speedrun compared to last time so... hopefully I'll be able to burn that last 6 minutes and 36 seconds and be get that sub 2 hour Geo nextime I try to speedrun it.
I hugely respect TheMexicanRunner for all the hours he spends on Speedrunning and all the Speedrunning records he's pulled off such as Hater% and Low%, he may have not been the one who inspired me to do Cuphead, but I still respect all his time and effort used into Speedrunning Cuphead, I can never get as good as he does when it comes to Speedrunning.
