Mario Kart World has been updated to 1.3.0 and one of the patch notes says that regular lap courses have been increased. You are supposed to be able to get regular lap courses more frequently. With my testing though it seems that intermission tracks are still here to stay and regular lap courses are still coming up not as frequent as I would like.
