5ANXIOUS - A Short Film About Anxiety explores one of my friend's personal experience dealing with anxiety alongside the stigma around mental health and how/why anxiety has become more widespread in New Zealand.
Approximately 1 in 4 New Zealanders will be affected by an anxiety disorder at some stage in their lives. At any one time, 15% of the population is affected with one. According to the NZ Mental Health Foundation, almost one in five young kiwi's meet the criteria for an anxiety disorder by age 19. Anxiety is quite wide-spread.
This short film was created with the intention of exploring the topics mentioned above as part of a short film assignment.
