AOCG | Asterix & Obelix XXL 3 The Crystal Menhir (2019) Tilt-Shift Design Downgrade
1After they butchered the remaster of Asterix XXL 2 (a cult game that ridiculed the whole gaming industry), making it a awful broken mess of cut stuff , missing jokes , bad redesigned Gui , etc (just play the PC original version , or the true remaster that was on the Wii with an added second campaign on a PC emu)... you thought, it could not get any worse , think again!! ... Welcome to Attack of Crap Games , this time we look at what happens when a Tablet game is multi-ported ... and a popular brand name is added to it, just to sell this product.
XXL 3 is "No" longer a TPS platformer with jokes that ridicule the gaming scene , with many jabs at other Ips ... a Topdown bore for the "Switch" tablet it became, ported to hell and back ... welcome to downgrade multi-port IP suicide , when the slowest platform, dictated how this game should look and feel like...
Just skip it ... on PC\PS4\Xbone , since its a Nintendo branded Tegra tablet "Switch" game that makes sense only on its screen ...
The main problem this game has , is the forced brand name "Asterix and Obelix XXL" just to sell more copies ... if it would have been called "Asterix and Obelix : The Crystal Menhir" , people would not compare it to its previous iterations...and simply put accept it for what it was... and for those that ask, there was a real "Asterix and Obelix XXL 3" game that came out in 2008. It was called "Asterix at the Olympic Games" ... When the publisher wanted to use this game as a promotion tool for this awful movie to get more money... even if the game was not about the movie itself ... it was the true XXL 3
Its the same story like with Another War 2 , when developers wanted to save face by re-branding it as a Movie licensed game "Jak rozperalem druga wojne Swiatowa"
