AOCG QUICKY | Tamarin (2020) a 3D Shooter-Platformer from Ex-Rare Developers
The next game from the Ex-Rare Developers makers of Conker has to be good ... right?
ehmm ... well.. its kinda shit....
On one side you got this out of place asset look , horrible lighting that washes all , horrible gun control (its aim is broken , you don't aim in a normal way its a soft auto aim when you get near someone and then you can go into manual aim ... the only normal aiming scheme has the machine gun ... that you get ... 40 min in ... in level 3 ... ouch), N64 gamedesign that doesn't feel right in this engine (one use checkpoint system in 2020 GTFO , awful ammo\health pick ups , die restart from a checkpoint 30 min before you got those birds ... the only saving grace is that health\ammo\weapon power ups and upgrades save your progress ... *facepalm*), stiffness of (all more like out of place of all , you got this well made caves , that go into this crappy made factory that looks so ... imagine a Quake 2 map and suddenly out of the blue , on it jumps a high polygon Model ... you question its design on every step "Who the Fuck Tested It ?"
On the other hand ... after 1h (that where like 3h , died 3 times ... fuck you 2020 game with a broken checkpoint system from 1997) when you can normally aim it goes into the mediocre territory ...
But can you brace your anus to go through the awfulness of the first 1h, is up to you ... and yes seeing the amount of things backtracking will be forced later on...
Not to mention they managed to do the impossible ... make this game play worse with keyboard and mouse (acceleration and awful input lag) then with a controller ... how can you screw that up is beyond me ...
Not to mention 1h-ish is like 21% of the game ... 4h long ? ... and now you get why so anal save system was put in place , to pad this to hell and back
Lets longplay it ... and see how bad and broken it is ...
PS. at 1:30 you see the input lag ... imagine you press a button , 1 sec later he moves ... from 1:56 the mouse aiming , no enemies all is fine ... more at 2:49 this aim drift does not exist when you play with a pad ... 2:10 how the texture look of a PC game from 2005 does not work , when a highly detailed models runs near it ... this game falls on its face in its design
