Greetings fellow test subjects,
Test Subject 1337 here for Aperture Gaming. They make it, we test it, you play it. Out of all the Reviews done on this channel, this was one of, if not THE hardest.

First and foremost, this is an M rated game. We here at Channel PirateCaptainJeff strive to make sure that whatever we review, we make sure anyone can watch and enjoy the show. If the product is rated R, MA, or M, we please ask that you are responsible in getting the game, book, movie, or show. THIS game features content NOT for children, so if you are a parent, please buy and game responsibly. In regard to that, this game is a work of fiction but the games main focus features violence, crime, use of drugs, use of alcohol, strong language, nudity, and racism.

We here at Channel PirateCaptainJeff believe in the equal rights and fair treatment of everyone. We do NOT support or condone racism or criminal activity. Several games depict a place and time in history, Like Assassin’s Creed, and show all parts of humanity, good and bad. In a DLC ZONE featuring Pirate Captain Jeff himself, he reviewed Cry Freedom, the DLC form AC Black Flags. He went on to mention that while the actions of the past are historically accurate, the actions themselves are wrong. Both in that past DLC and this game, the wrongs of the world are either part of or entirely the focus of the games.

After you load the game and make your difficulty, aiming, and sub-title choices, the people behind this game, Hanger 13, post an opening statement about the game.
It reads as follows, “Mafia 3 takes places in a fictionalized version of the American South in 1968. We sought to create an authentic and immersive experience that captures this very turbulent time and place, including depictions of racism. We find the racial beliefs, language, and behaviors of some characters in the game abhorrent, but believe it is vital to include these depictions in order to tell Lincoln Clay’s story. Most importantly, we felt that to not include this very real and shameful part of our past would have been offensive to the millions who faced – and still face – bigotry, discrimination, prejudice, and racism in all its forms.”

With the world in the current state of crazy that it is, we felt that we needed to address these issues. We appreciate Hanger 13 putting in the time and effort on the game and for acknowledging that there are several areas in the game that are highly offensive and wrong but are, unfortunately, part of the history of the world. While these negative factors are in the game and are part of the story, we intend to also focus on the mechanics, visual and audio, and in general, we are just here to play and review the game. Without further ado, here is the review. Thanks for your patience and for watching.

The game mechanics, visuals, and audio are all good. The cars are classic and you also get boats. Of the collectibles, two of them are NOT for kids. Playboy magazines and paintings of attractive women who are au naturel. You have the ability to either lethal or non-lethal take down people, but you have to switch from the options menu. I also find the money saving factor with the safe interesting.

For the game mechanics, visuals, and audio, we give Mafia 3 a 9 out of 10.
