"Apocalypse Where?" Robert Plays Far Cry 3 Ep. 11
Jason Brody and his friends are stranded on the Rook Islands after a vacation gone horribly, horribly, horribly wrong. The happy natives, in the person of the batshit loco pirate lord Vaas Montenegro, want to collect a ransom from their obviously wealthy parents, and then sell them into slavery anyway. And torment them just for fun. The Rook Islands appear to exist in some sort of warp in the fabric of space, existing somewhere in between South America, the Caribbean, the South Pacific and Cambodia, with a touch of Somalia thrown in.
Almost everyone on the island is either a homicidal lunatic or working for one. Sure, there are the peaceful natives, but if you give everyone with even the slightest violent urges a gun and put them to work pushing cocaine (or pushing a bizarre warrior religion in the case of the Rakyat warriors), of course everyone left not holding a gun is peaceful. On an island 75% populated with drooling drug-addled machine-gun-wielding goons, there is always that other 25%.
And Jason, despite the lack of any previous signs of special talents with automatic weapons, guerrilla warfare and vehicular homicide, fits into this brave new world like a custom-fitted chainsaw in a slasher movie. Which makes you wonder, maybe he was always a closet psychopathic looney himself. Maybe he was just looking for an opportunity to let his special gifts in murder, assassination, ultraviolence and the production of pain in people and animals blossom like a poisonous jungle flower. He was just looking for the right place to fulfill his destiny as a ruthless blood-smeared psychopath. In that case, congratulations Jason. You've arrived. ;)
The Rook Islands. Apocalypse Now meets Club Med. Come for the beaches and recreation, stay for the continuous and gratuitous murder, torture and slavery. It's a holiday in the heart of darkness a la Joseph Conrad. Be sure to pack a mirror, because before it's all over, you won't recognize yourself.
"You've got the bullets. Nothing to worry about..."
