According to a source and unconfirmed rumor/report, Apple have been secretly developing their own GPU for their upcoming line of iPhones, iPads and Macs. Apple already use their own processor, or SoC, so a custom GPU for the smartphones and Mac PCs would not be unusual.

If this is true, the custom Apple GPU could improve performance and give a really nice boost to their future iDevices. Apple are also a fan of closed systems, so an in house graphics card would also make sense from that perspective.
