ARCADE LONGPLAY (M.A.M.E.) - JOE & MAC: CAVEMAN NINJA - 1991 DATA EAST
Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja is a 1991 platform video game published by Data East for arcades. Distributed in Japan under the title Joe & Mac: Tatakae Genshijin (ジョーとマック 戦え原始人?, Jō to Makku Tatakae Genshijin), it was later converted to the Super Nintendo, Sega Mega Drive, Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, Amiga and personal computers.
PLOT:
Joe and Mac are the heroes of the game, two prehistoric men with (respectively) green and blue hair. Their goal is simply to save some young women kidnapped by a group of rival cavemen.
GAME MODE:
The two protagonists must fight during the game levels against numerous enemies (human, animal and plant) using weapons such as boomerangs, bones, fire, electricity, stone wheels, clubs and even projections of themselves.
A joystick and two buttons are used (A to attack, B to jump).
There are 3 lives, with hit points; lost energy can be recovered both by eating food scattered along the path and by completing each level.
Extra lives are earned by reaching certain scores, and it is possible to obtain two more in a couple of levels, by hitting hidden targets.
The heroes can also temporarily become invincible, after having taken possession of a drink.
In the arcade version there are 10 bosses in total: after defeating the last one, the player can choose between three exits, each of which leads to a different ending, but all characterized by humorous touches (also present in the rest of the game): in one of them, Joe and Mac find a long line of girls waiting for them; in another, an extra-large woman; in the last, an effeminate-looking caveman eager to mate with them!
