I've finally reached another goal of mine - to be able to complete Shinobi getting all "Special Bonus" 20,000 point bonuses in one run.
These bonuses are for not using the throwing shurikens or gun bullets in a stage. I also had a secondary goal of not using Ninja Magic for the 5000 point bonuses they award, up until stage 5. Stage 5 has a weird property that you are only able to get either the special bonus OR the ninja magic bonus, but not both. I used ninja magic in the 5th stage for this reason, as it wouldn't help out my score at all.
Apologies for the signal "noise" coming off the direct capture. The power supply in my supergun is causing this and I'm hoping I can find a cleaner way to capture arcade PCB's sometime soon.
I am running my supergun to the framemeister (XRGB mini) via scart, and then capturing at 1080p/60fps with an Avermedia C127 Game Broadcast HD in XSplit.
There's not too much left for me to try to accomplish in this game, aside from a few minor things:
1) Do the boring point pressing in level 2-1. This would raise my score significantly (each life I burn is at least 10k).
2) Attempt to get all perfect bonus rounds. This would also help raise my score, and is more skill-based than the point pressing.
For the time being, I'll try some other games out and maybe come back to this game to accomplish (or at least, attempt to accomplish) those other goals later.
