One of the earliest genres of gaming, the shoot'em up ("shmup") was huge in the formative years of video gaming - especially in the 1980s, and especially in the arcades. It seemed just about every developer produced shmups - with the expected varying degrees of quality.

In this [Part 2] video, we take a look at 100 of the shmups you might have seen in an arcade in the 1980s! This video will only feature games with names starting from M ("Mega Zone") to Z ("Zodiack"). Part 1 of this video covers the first half of the alphabet.

Note that we take a bit of a technical definition of "shoot'em up" here; with very few exceptions, this video does NOT contain:
