Architecture of Bioshock 2 #23: Ambush Hotel
Just looting and hacking and killing splicers as we go. You'll notice that we're basically following a path that winds through the run down rooms of this apartment building, with blocked doors and holes in walls forming a new path through the old layout. This is reminiscent of style of level design in Half-Life 2, and I like the idea of a kind of level design that both functions well as a game, and is convincing in terms of being the remains of a once-functioning city, but unfortunately many of the apartments are clearly lacking rooms and not laid out as you would expect in a real building. I think it's something they could have easily made better if they spent a little more time on it. Even the apartments in the first Bioshock game were much more convincing, although they had really large bathrooms.
