Are JRPGs Resurging? An Analysis of the Genre

NOTE: I included Tales of Berseria and Ni No Kuni II as "Great" despite the fact that they got poor user reviews. There was definitely something off with the scores on metacritic, I did not think the fan reception was poor for those games. I checked Gamefaqs and Steam user reviews for the games and they were overwhelmingly positive on both sites for both games.
Controversial Exclusions:
Souls series: I have generally felt like Souls is a WRPG. The series' lore and combat have a more western feel to it.
Dragon's Dogma: Never played the game, but upon looking at forum post it seems like most of the fans say it's more of an WRPG. I excluded it, but it's not the hill I'll die on for sure.
Monster Hunter: My experience playing this series is very limited but I really didn't see many RPG elements. It seems like the fans agree with me here. I also excluded other "Monster Hunter" type games like God Eater Burst
Digital only games (in the west): A lot of digital only games are smaller budget, shorter games, and I find it a bit disingenuous to include all of these games to inflate the numbers. But if I were to include them, it would only make this generation look even better.
Controversial inclusions:
FF Type 0 HD: I didn't include ports and remakes as a general rule unless it was released around the same time as the original (Vita/PS4 multiplatform games) OR it was the first time we got it in the west, which was the case with Type 0
