Hello and welcome to a special video that I've been planning since Wednesday
This video is dedicated to NazGamingTV, you should check out his channel if you like "Mainstream" games
So onto the video

So on Wednesday, review scores for Naughty Dog's The Last of Us were released, and they were all around 9/10 or 10/10. So it shows its a very good game
So I was speaking to Nazer of NazGamingTV about the game and he said "Naughty dog is without a doubt the best game developer"
WOAH HANG ON A MINUTE!
Yep He said the "BEST GAME" Developer!

I quickly intervened and said "They aren't the greatest developers! Just because most of their games have gotten great reviews doesn't mean that they are the greatest developers ever!!"
I then went on to name some of my favourite developers, such as Bethesda, Ubisoft, Nintendo, Retro Studios and Monolith Soft.
And then he hit me with a bombshell

I quote: "No, none of the nonmainstream developers are good."
HUAHAUAHJHSH WHAT!!!!!!!
I had to reply with the recent EA controversy but thought its best not to even bother trying to argue his point about mainstream developers.

So that's why I'm making this video! I want your opinions on Mainstream Developers VS the Indie/Unpopular devs, but first, i'm going to go into detail on my opinons!

In my opinion, I think that most of the underrated, unpopular or indie developers are usually equal or can even overshine the mainstream ones.
An example of this is if I were to compare Monolith Soft with Activision.
Activision make a lot of different games and are very well known throughout the gaming community for their work on games such as Call of Duty, the James Bond games and the very popular yet now defucnt Guitar Hero series.
Monolith Soft are the opposite, quite an unpopular developer who are not so, lets say "acquainted", with the gaming public.
They are known for the work on the Xenosaga series, co-developing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and for creating the
universally acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles.
Now lets weigh this up a little!
Activisions Call of Duty series has a new entry EVERY year, and what's different each time, a new campaign which plays the same, some new guns and some new maps.
But everything else is exactly the same. The game is basically the same under a different name!
But look at the reception given to the game! They get such high review scores, tonnes of advertising and sell so well!!
But do the gamers of today not understand when they are paying over £40 on a carbon copy of the same game?
What I find even more outrageous, is what Activision said about COD: Ghosts, at the recent Xbox One event.

Now lets look at the other side of the plate, Monolith Soft spend over a good few years producing and developing their games.
Take Xenoblade Chronicles as an example, development on the game began in early 2008, and the game was released in Japan in late 2009,
yet it only managed to get all around the world by 2012. What does this show you ask?
Well It shows how a company which is NOT mainstream and is NOT well known, has taken its time to ensure that its game is the top quality for all regions it will be released in.
The result?
Xenoblade Chronicles received Universal Acclaim from critics, gathering 10/10 from more or less ALL reviewers.
The game is hailed as the greatest JRPG in the last decade! And many proclaim the game to be the greatest game of the seventh generation.
Now compare that to Activision's Call of Duty series, none of those games had had long development times just to make sure the quality is high.
They do it through DLC. Did Xenoblade? No, because within the long-ish development time, the games story ALONE was 100 hours+
Now compare the developers and who's done better. Is it Monolith Soft, or Activision? In my opinion, its obviously Monolith Soft

Now, that's just ONE of the several explanations that I could have given to show my opinion.
But now I want to know what YOU think!
Do you prefer mainstream developers or the unpopular/indie developers?
Just comment your opinion or you could even leave it as a video response!

Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed this video, be sure to drop a like and hit that subscibe button!
Thanks for watching and goodbye!
