Now that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S have been released, the next generation can finally begin! But, how long will it be until these behemoths become outdated? Technology ages as fast as it advances, so it's only a matter of time until "Pro" versions of the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles hit stores. Will players eventually get sick of buying new home consoles every few years?

In my opinion, Pro Consoles only stand to splinter gaming communities. In the past, this mentality lead to the eventual downfall of Sega's hardware lineup. Should modern day console companies be cautious of the same fate?
