The second battle is the first analysis subject of Phase 1, the TRAINER AC. The battle data, acquired by analyzing both your and the TRAINER AC's performance, will be integrated into the unit you previously fought - MIND ALPHA.

If one immediately believed ALL MIND's explanation that it was providing support and improvements for Armored Core pilots, then this particular battle analysis between you and a simple standard trainer AC would make sense to help ALL MIND understand what a budding Mercenary would go through when faced with a seasoned pilot in a superior Armored Core. The data from this battle would be integrated into MIND ALPHA which would eventually be available to mercenaries. Or so ALL MIND claims. While I certainly doubted ALL MIND's intentions from the beginning, there was some truth mixed in there. After all, we ourselves got access to some of ALL MIND's proprietary tech
