While I was very happy to win the ENSL Movie Contest in 2009 and felt that
Army of Wltrs deserved to win, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the movie. It had
quite a few issues, most of which were a result of rushing it to meet the contest
deadline. Ever since then, I've wanted to improve it and re-release the movie in
the state I originally envisaged it.

Now, almost one year later, it's finally done. I've fixed many of the issues --
or at least tried to -- that were commented on by viewers of the original AoW.
I've also improved other parts of the movie that I felt weren't quite up to snuff.
Make no mistake though, it's still the same movie -- only improved.

I'd like to thank all the people who voted for AoW in the movie contest and for
giving me helpful comments. I'd also like to thank everyone who over the years
have told me they enjoy my movies. That really brightens my day.

In December 2008, I was thinking about making a short (2 minute-ish) Army
of Darkness themed NS movie. Realizing nobody had made a movie about wltrs,
possibly the most legendary European NS player of all time, I asked him if he had
any frags for me. As luck would have it, he had a lot, and Army of Wltrs was born.

A couple of weeks later, harmaahylje contacted me on IRC, asking my
opinion on his plan to make an NS movie competition. Being a realistically
minded person, I told him he was a nutter and pretended I wasn't at all
interested in his crazy venture. Not long after this however, the ENSL movie
competition was launched with great success. Donations poured in and several
prospective movie makers signed up.

While surprised, I was also delighted by this unexpected turn of events. I
decided to modify my original concept for a short AoD themed movie to fit with the
competition. After remaking my idea, very little remained from the original
concept, except for the name and a few AoD themed dialogue scenes. Wltrs dug up
more than enough frags to support a longer movie and the project started taking
shape.

In December and February I did very little work, except for some slight planning
and desperate attempts at deciding on a soundtrack. Wltrs gave me a steady stream
of demos and time codes however, and things were moving along slowly. Serious
work started in March, with a frantic last effort in the days leading up to the
competition deadline on the 15th of April.

Army of Wltrs is a movie with amazing frags and reasonably decent editing, given
the time frame and my lazy nature. Ideally, I would've had two more weeks to
polish and improve it before release, but deadlines are deadlines. All in all,
I'm quite pleased with it, except for the AoW logo which was rushed in
the last minute to avoid just having a blank screen there instead. I tried to be
innovative with certain aspects of it, which has its pros and cons. The dialogue
bits were part of this and didn't exactly turn out as planned. I find the weird
result somewhat charming, however! As is my usual style, I've focused on the
audio/video sync and the general flow of the movie.

I've spent quite a bit of time and effort on this -- I hope it shows, and I hope
you all enjoy it! :]
