Arx Fatalis |4K60+AI Enhanced Textures| Longplay Full Game Arx Libertatis Walkthrough No Commentary
Full game longplay of Arx Fatalis, a dungeon crawler-FPP-RPG, an Ultima Underworld spiritual successor, and a debut for Arkane Studios. Game was released on PC in 2002, and for the OG Xbox in 2003/2004. Here is the PC version, played with the essential Arx Libertatis improvement mod in the newest version as of April 2022, in 3840x2160 resolution with Libertatis' MSAA solution on, with the Arx Neuralis AI enhanced textures pack, highest possible details, all on max, recorded in 4K60.
Some things to note:
- I used the chair exploit in the first prison area of the game, to get the gud armor and sword, to ensure I actually SURVIVE through recording of this game the 4th time. 3 other times I tried, I kept getting shit on like in the half of the game up to 3/4th, just had to backtrack all those kilometres to the city for some potions and all. Also I had limited time up to 12 hours to record the game. Recording itself is 7 hours, and about 6 hours more off-recording, getting lost, figuring out puzzles, and looking for one specific fucking glyph item in the crypt, all that was cut out. So, forgive the exploit, but I'd rather actually have the longplay fully recorded and uploaded on youtube, than give up on the game 4th time halfway, and not have a longplay at all. Ye, I should git gud and try some advanced tactics on effective leveling or something instead of the exploit, but I prefer an actual longplay over nothing. :D
- In the crypt, CHECK. EVERY. SINGLE. TOMB. AND EVERY CARCASS. THEY CONTAIN QUEST ITEMS. 2 hours of my life wentdown the drain, looking for one freaking glyph.
- I took the path of the "help the snake-ladies", the *worse/bad* path, instead of helping King Lunshire and his daughter, the Princess of the Rebels. It means I cut myself off of 2-3 short subquests at the very end of the game basically, but I was really tired of the game, and wanted it to just end.
- In the dwarven level, the lowest one, you NEED to look freaking everywhere for the power cores, they are all hidden, except one on the doorway in the mine. Took like 1 hour looking for enough of them.
- Do NOT build your character the same as me, invest in some better magic, like anti-magic spell, bless, and speed. Without those, Ylsides will be stronger than they should feel in the late-game, and the final boss will just butt-fuck you to death. It took me over 30 tries to defeat the boss. I always remembered boss being unproportionally powerful when compared to the Ylsides, but that was just a travesty. The AOE spell he uses is just broken as fuck and there is no escape from it, except hide behind a 1 metre thick column. Oh, and the Summon Demon spell, sometimes every 1 minute. Imagine 3 Demons running after you PLUS the final boss just trying to pull you to start the AOE. And that's on the Arx Libertatis version. I wonder if they made it harder than it had been before?
Arx Fatalis (Latin for "fatal fortress") is set on a world whose sun has failed, forcing the above-ground creatures to take refuge in caverns. The action in Arx Fatalis takes place in one of these large caves, where the members of various races, such as Trolls, Goblins, Dwarves, Humans, etc., have made their homes on various levels of the cave. The player awakens inside a prison cell and, after making his escape, eventually discovers his mission is to subvert and imprison the God of Destruction, Akbaa, who is trying to manifest itself in Arx.
