This video is of the Gem of Impulse Quest in the MMORPG Asheron's Call. This is a low level quest that was introduced during the first year of the game (2000).

This quest revolves around the town of Xarabydun, an underground town which was only reachable by low level players when first introduced. The town is an ancient Empyrean ruin that remains overrun on the lowest level by various monsters. Later on during the life of the game, a path for all players to reach the town was created by Ulgrim, although the lowest levels remained level restricted.

This quest also deals with the lore surrounding the K'nath enemies which are shaped like trapezoidal prisms. The quest lore explains that when magic spells are attempted and failed (fizzle), "slippage" occurs which is what creates the K'nath. K'nath were never a popular enemy type and were only ever used sparingly throughout the life of Asheron's Call.

Asheron's Call servers were shut down in January 2014, bu the game lives on in the form of open source emulator servers. New and returning players are welcome to journey back into the world of Dereth.
