Askew Review: Brutal Doom II
Doom II was released less than a year after the original and sold a ton of copies. Because it was released so close to the original, people remember it being a great game. But was it a great game? Or just a churned out sequel in an effort to make millions?
Askew Review is my review series where I will play a game with a mod intended to only sharpen or enhance the experience, rather than change the core game. This is the first in the series, where I review Doom II after playing it with the Brutal Doom (v19) mod and GZDoom to give it mouse-look, crouching, jumping and key mapping to bring the game a modern feel. I know, Doom has been beaten to death, but not Doom II as a sequel.
I used a pop filter for this video with my existing mic, so audio quality is improved from my last video. During the production of the review I received a condenser mic from a friend, so it should get even better. I am excited to continue doing these projects, as each time I learn something new about editing, graphic design, audio mixing, and video capture. As a hobby, I enjoy doing this quite a bit, so as long as you keep watching, the content will keep coming.
I hope you enjoyed the video. I now have a twitter set up, so please be sure to follow for status updates and info, or add me on Google +. Also, be sure to like and subscribe to help spread awareness to my channel.
Thanks for watching!
