ASMR Unboxing - New Audio and Video Setup! Everything you need for a professional ASMR setup
Good news everyone! The wait is finally over and Christmas has come early, My new ASMR setup has arrived! Now this doesn't include a true binaural microphone as I am saving all my pennies for a 3dio Free Space Pro (which you can help me get by heading to my Patreon page, http://www.patreon.com/asmrcast).
I hope this video is enjoyable from an AMSR point of view, but also serves as a guide to months of research into the best audio and video hardware for the ASMR videos I want to achieve.
Hardware list (and possible alternatives):
- Zoom H5 & Zoom Shotgun Mic Capsule (Zoom H4n would suffice on a budget, but I was not happy with the white noise level)
- Panasonic GH3 (Previous generation to the newly released GH4 and can be had for a fraction of the price)
- Panasonic Lumix G 14-42mm Lens (Your lenses are your own choice, but this one is designed for video work)
Why did I choose this gear?
Audio:
To get any kind of decent quality in sound without paying thousands, you need to use an external recorder. The preamps in the Zoom H5 are the same as those in the H6. They allow for a nice noise free sound (compared to other similarly priced recorders). The shotgun mic is for when I want to do recording with multiple microphones.
Video:
The Panasonic GH3 is the best solution I could find for my requirements, which were:
Large image sensor
Interchangeable lenses
1080p 60fps
No recording time limit
Wifi for external monitor
Additional inputs for external audio and lighting
I hope this has helped you, thanks for watching!
