Assassin's Creed 2 (Xbox One X) (Xclusive Playthrough - Part 20) Sailing to Venice
Check out part 20 of my Xclusive Playthrough featuring the game Assassin's Creed 2! The game released on the Xbox One and Xbox Series family of consoles on November 15th, 2016 as a part of the Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection. It was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft.
In this video, Ezio spends a bit more time exploring Forli until finally setting sail to Venice with Leonardo.
Assassin's Creed 2 is an action-adventure game where the player takes on the role of the assassin Ezio Auditore (who is another one of Desmond Miles' ancestors). The player is taken on a journey through Ezio's life: beginning with his birth, continuing with his teenage years and then transitioning to his introduction into the assassin's world/lifestyle. Initially, Ezio's reasons for taking up his father's mantle are to seek revenge and retribution for his family members deaths, however, the longer he does it the more he realizes that he has a much larger calling: to save Italy from the Templars' grip.
This game also continues to follow the present-day story of Desmond Miles and directly picks up where the first Assassin's Creed game left off. Desmond wakes up to Lucy covered in blood and her telling him that they have to have escape from Abstergo. Desmond later learns that Lucy has actually been an assassin who infiltrated Abstergo to get on the inside and find out what the Templars are up to. They both escape to a nearby Assassin hideout where Desmond is also introduced to Shaun Hastings and Rebecca Crane. Together, they team up to try and stop Abstergo once and for all.
This game was actually a huge improvement over the first Assassin's Creed game in practically every way. The controls were very responsive and much improved upon (both the combat and the free-running felt amazing compared to Assassin's Creed). The face buttons are used for many different actions based on situation that the player finds themselves in the game. The missions were also much improved over the first game as the missions here included much more variety with regards to the tasks and improved cutscenes. Finally, the combat and free-running were immensely improved as well. The combat feels a lot more fluid and intuitive; it's a lot easier to fight many enemies at once and come out on top (whereas with the first game you really had to get a specific rhythm down). The free-running also feels really smooth, fast and fluid as opposed to the first game.
As for the achievements in this game: there is a lot of variety here and none of them are missable. Most of them are story-related, however, the rest of the achievements are a mix between open world content and combat specific moves.
