Assassin's Creed Mirage is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. The game is the 13th major installment in the Assassin's Creed series and the successor to 2020's Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
The story revolves around Basim Ibn Is'haq, a cunning thief from the streets of Baghdad during the 9th Century.
During the events of Valhalla it is known that Basim is the reincarnation or personification of the Norse God of Mischief, LOKI, and ultimately he turned out to be an arch enemy of Eivor who was none other than Odin's reincarnation. Eivor successfully defeats Basim by trapping him into some kind of Isu simulation. It was later found out that was merely a pause rather than a defeat and he awaited in darkness only to be freed by Layla in modern world. Basim freed himself when Layla approached the simulation and finds herself trapped in place of Basim who is now free in the modern world. Right now he seeks the knowledge and answers about The Hidden Ones (Assassins) and the Order of the Ancients (Templars, or Abstergo Industries) from William Miles. It is yet to be known what his ulterior motives are. William asked Basim for a sample of his blood to know about his past so that he can decide whether they can work with him and trust him. Therefore, the whole story in Mirage is Basim's past memory relived by William Miles through Animus.
