Assassin's Creed: Top 8 Cowardly Templars
Whenever you hear the words assassins creed what is the first thought that comes to your mind?
What comes to my mind is the conflict between the assassins and Templars with the latter trying to tighten the grip on the world and assassin allegedly trying to free the world.
In over a dozen games we have seen great heroes like altair, ezio, bayek and others and we have also seen some very ruthless and varied Templars along the way.
These Templars have very dark backstories, dark motives and some even have their qualities.
Today I would try to rank 8 such Templars

At number 8. We have Robert De Sablé from Assassin's Creed
The very first villian that players are introduced to in the whole series, and whats more interesting is that he is a member of the actual Knights Templar from the Crusades, unlike the other villains on this list.
Born into a powerful family in France he was destined to be the 11th grandmaster of the Templars.
He was very good at manipulation and used other people's greed to get his dirty jobs done. Robert gained King Richard's trust, despite secretly plotting his downfall
Whats funny is he believed his cause was for the global peace and he was destined to be killed by altair.

Next we have Francois Thomas Germain - Assassin's Creed Unity
He was a French silversmith, Sage, and Grand Master of the French Templars during the French Revolution.
His main aim was to create a capitalist society in which the Templars could more easily control the populace
He was a power-obsessed coward like so many of the villains in the Assassin's Creed games.
He was such a threat that Arno teamed up with Templars to beat him.

At number 6 we have Cesare Borgia from Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
The main enemy in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and one of the most hated characters in the whole series for just how cowardly he is.
They say charity begins at home and this guy started his manipulation at home,
He used his family to get whatever he wanted, and as if the abuse was not enough he went on to murders his father when he did not get his wish, I mean what a useless bastard he is
This guy attaked ezio’s new home and He even thought he is immortal, have a look at what he said to ezio at the time of his death


Number 5 Maxwell Roth from Assassin's Creed Syndicate
This game may not be the best but is still so popular and I have seen so many people playing it on and on and one reason perhaps is Maxwell Roth, the primary antagonist of Assassin's Creed Syndicate portrayed by John Hopkins. If you don’t like Maxwell you would still love John for the work he has done.
Do you remember Joker from batman, Maxwell is very similar to him. Pretending to be very impulsive while secretly having every detail on his figure tips.
His ambitions are quickly exposed after he betrays Jacob when he was first working alongside.
4. We have none other then Al Mualim from Assassin's Creed
When I first saw him I thought he was a great assassins leader who deeply cared for the order and was planning to train altair to take his place after him.
Well not everyone could get a hold of self after having his hands on apple of eden. I mean not everyone is altair or ezio if you know what I mean
Being in such a high position makes his eventual betrayal later all the more shocking and impactful as he is initially portrayed as someone Altair and others could trust and we even believed him.
His obsession with the Apple of Eden lead him to work with the Templars, leading to his death at his deciple’s hands.
3. Charles Lee - Assassin's Creed 3
What makes this game one of the darkest ones in the series?
You may have answered something different but many would agree that the monstrous character of Charles lee is one of the reasons.
At first you may feel like a naïve character is unknowingly doing wrong things and ends up with Templars but when When you later see Charles Lee you see a monster buring whole villages and not sparing even children. I mean have a look at what he does to young connor.

2. We have connor’s father Haytham Kenway from Assassin's Creed 3
He is a major villain of Assassin's Creed 3 but the irony is he also happens to be the father of the protagonist, Connor Kenway. Ubisoft went very dark with this.
The very realisation that connors father was involved in all of this and the anticipation of getting his hands on the man who took everything from connor makes assassins creed 3 much more tense.
