Assetto Corsa : A Kinda Direct Comparison Without Comparison (McLaren 12C GT3 @ Silversone)
So, two different models getting a similar result. Hmm. Regarding the Curbing and this car in both AC and iRacing, while watching the Bathurst 12 hours last week I noticed (in one of the 5 minute onboards they ran) that Van Gisbergen in the McLaren didn't come anywhere close to curbing I was using (and often causing the car to explode) in the iRacing version at the same track. I do think it's still too punitive, but that plus the way AC has the exact same behavior makes me think it's not entirely silly.
Well, the iRacing 12C GT3's behavior over the curbs is, but that is for a different reason, mainly the fact that small nibbles of curbing upsets the car more than full on smacking the crap out of them.
I did find if funny though there was a thread about the 12C's behavior on the curbs rather quickly on the AC forums. For me, I found that pretty awesome that both sims have drivers dealing with the same issue, even though they are developed separate of each other of course. I find it hard to believe that AC and iRacing have the "exact same problem" because they are both "broken in the exact same way", if you catch my powerslide. ;)
Turn on TC though in AC and the car will eat curbs with next to no issue. GT3 cars have TC, GT3 cars use TC, GT3 drivers use TC, sim racers hate TC because it isn't hardcore enough. :)
