What is the role of a 1st AD? A lot of people outside of the film industry aren't familiar with what an assistant director does, but I found Brittany's work invaluable on Detroit Evolution. While I may have been the 'creative' director and did have a lot of the logistics handled, Brittany was my second set of eyes, ears, and hands every day while we were on set. She took on the toughest of challenges with ferocity and grace, and is also a brilliant director in her own right.
