Astra Superstars - Sega Saturn - Intro & 4MB playthrough longplay as Lettuce, Heat Up Ending [4K60]
Full gameplay longplay, playthrough, walkthrough, guide & trueplay as Lettuce with a one credit clear (1CC). A rare example of a RAM Saturn title that supports both the 1MB, 4MB and no cartridge at all. A rather psychedelic super based one on one airborne fighter, that was Sunsoft's follow up to Waku Waku 7. Developed with a company called Santaclaus, that was a Sunsoft spin off division. This is a rather Wacky fighting game clearly based on the fighting concept shown in Dragon Ball and games such as Psychic Force. Originally released on the ST-V arcade hardware this Saturn version is pretty much an arcade perfect port when using the 4MB. If you don't have a cartridge inserted expected longer load times.
Cute cartoon characters with a bit of a Christmas feeling, making for a very off beat fighter that uses the standard six button versus layout. It's combo crazy and very easy to chain moves together. Add in some over powered and over the top super moves and you get the idea, it's a lot of fun. While the game doesn't have the largest cast of characters there is nine playable characters, but Test-Kun is only selectable in versus mode. The bonus round character Satan Volte isn't playable and neither are the My Devil/Angel mirror match characters. You can unlock a nice art gallery, but not much else. The sound test also doesn't let you listen to certain songs until you have heard them once either.
Where the game does have replay value in the scoring systems which is rather complex. With a number hidden point rewards on top of a rank systems that grades your performance. Hidden scores bonuses such as Splendid, Numbers and Perfect allow you to rack up huge final scores. The first eight rounds see you face off against the eight main player characters, then you get a one round bonus round against a boss character called Satan Volte, lose to him and you get the normal ending, beat him and you fight the exhibition against Test-Kun, who must be defeated for the final score award.
What isn't mentioned much on the internet is that each character has multiple endings based on your chat options at the start of a fight. Selecting 1 the top option, makes the character cool down, making the fight easier. Selecting 2, gives you a normal fight and selecting 3 makes the opponent heat up, making the fight harder. If you only pick one you won't get an ending at all, if you mainly pick two you will get the normal ending, but if you select heat up for every fight and beat Test-Kun at the end you will get their alternative ending.
