Astro Avenger II - Full Ace run
Alternative title: How to murder your mouse by spam clicking!
Ok, the sequel is somewhat harder than Astro avenger I.
Not only because the way armor and energy upgrades works, but also because we don't have the TRUE Crusher in here!!!! Oh, and that it also has buff some old enemies as well as adding new and annoying ones.
Really fun game, and great sequel. More enjoyable than it's predecessor.
Thought about doing this one first as AV 1 is easier than this one.
Getting in detail about the levels:
00:00:00 - intro
00:02:41 - World 1 / Level 1 - 9
The levels of this world aren't as hard as the ones coming up, but you'll still need to save enough plasma so that you start world 2 already with the lvl.2 spacecraft.
To do this, try to not repair your spaceship and, instead, try to get the armour bonus during any of the levels. This mostly in the very first 6 levels which are sightly easier to deal with, although they don't give much plasma too, which is why you would need to avoid to repair you spacecraft in these. If your spacecraft has only got a few minor scratches, then don't repair it either.
Always sell your rockets: after completing a level, try to not comeback to the lobby station with no rockets. This way you can sell them and earn more plasma.
Only focus on updating the Driller, as is the only weapon you'll need to use for this level.
00:19:32 - World 1 / Level 10 (Boss)
Not much about this level, although his boss is probalby the easiest in the game as once you get the shield, you just crash into the boss and you'll be fine. I mean it's sooo easy that I didn't even got to kill it by myself!!!
00:21:16 - World 2 / Level 1 - 9
Start upgrading the Separator up to lvl. 3, but keep using the Driller until level 5. When you've upgraded the Separator, start saving up for the third spaceship upgrade. Once you've upgraded the spaceship, upgrade the Separator. Once you've done all of this, save your plasma for the fourth spaceship upgrade.
Keep selling your rockets.
(level 5-9) At this point, if you feel it needed, you can repair your spaceship as the plasma price for it isn't really relevant anymore.
00:49:22- World 2 / Level 10 (Boss)
The first very hard level of the game, and the one with the hardest boss.
In the level, be really careful with these cargo ships that shots lasers, as it tends to attack off-screen, and the lasers are extremely deadly. Other than that, nothing much.
There's no shield in the middle of the bossfight, so you'll need to avoid his attacks, which aren't really hard to dodge but can still be a bit tricky due to the way the boss moves around. Try to replicate what I did (or do your own strategy).
The reason I consider this world's boss as the hardest one is because it's the only boss you actually have to fight with, but it's not really hard either.
00:53:06 - World 3 / Level 1 - 9
This is where you need to be more careful as these cargo ship I mentioned eariler appear frequently in this world. Use medusa rockets to get rid of them easily.
You'll also have to be careful with these stupid blue wasp alien enemies. Their attack is not really easy to dodge either.
Other than that, I'd say you have two choices: one is save up for the 4th and 5th spaceship upgrade, and get the Damager ready to use for world 4, and the other one is to only save up for the 4th spaceship upgrade and start using the Damager (better if you have it upgraded up to lvl.3) and save up for the 5th spaceship upgrade to get it in world 4. Both should be okay, although the latter may be less tiring if you cannot stand spam clicking for too long. Me neither, but I didn't thought about this option when I was playing...
Oh, and keep selling your rockets too.
01:16:37- World 3 / Level 10 (Boss)
Another easy boss, you don't get the shield when facing it but who needs that when you can buy more than a dozen of nukes?
The level is also easy. It only introduces a new cargo spacecraft but is not as lethal as the one that shoots lasers... which doesn't even appear in this level!
01:18:56 - World 4 / Level 1 - 9
This is a very easy world, and you may need to take it as a break to prepare for world 5 instead.
Just use the damager, and try to look for a maxed Cruiser.
If you still don't have the 5th spaceship upgrade don't worry, you'll get it really soon, this is world is extremely easy afterwards.
Keep selling your rockets, or not, doesn't matter either.
01:43:00 - World 4 / Level 10 (Boss)
Another another easy boss. Just kill it with nukes.
The level is also easy.
