Astro Colony, How to Setup Automation for Science Resources and Back Door Production Setup (EP8)
0In this series we will be playing the early access version of Astro Colony. Astro Colony is a game focused around gathering the resources from asteroids and other celestial bodies to create a moving space station factory.
In this episode we show off the large amount of changes made to the space stations since last time in an explain as you go base tour. We cover what changed, how its setup, and what each part of the station is used for currently or planned for in future episodes. We unlock the ability to make space and biology science in preparation for astronauts joining the station (in the next episode). This allows us to finish setting up the automation required to make chemistry, biology, and space science automatically. We also have added automatic production for iron rods, screws, and gears to the station to assist in future building/upgrading.
We discuss how to find resources/planetoids that are not shown on the map when you spawn in, and our plans for mining out the large planetoids on attached to our space station.
We end the episode making a back door into our resource production system (i.e., the system that turns raw ores into useful materials). This is to enable future addition of planetoid based resource gathering produced by robotic mining (in the next episode).
This series will be a general guide in a playthrough format. We will explain how the basic mechanics of the game works and discuss how to approach and overcome the obstacles the game throws at you. Each episode will focus on a few elements of the game's progression or on expansions to our space station.
