This is my recap of all my findings from attempting to build a land bridge from Desolo to Sylva. The short answer is no, you can't. The game physically stops you from building a fully connecting bridge. You can, however, walk across space from Desolo to Sylva!

The planetary bodies you see in orbit are fake. I tried landing on one and you simply go through it. They are used as a graphical user interface for you to pick which planet to fly to in a shuttle (actually a genius method). The actual planets remain in fixed positions and are unrendered except for the resources.

There is some kind of barrier stopping you from passing into Sylva but it can be passed by using a rover seat and placing it lower than yourself and getting in and then getting out and repeating the process.

The land bridge from the Sylva side is a bit more finicky and I could not even jump off of it, you get stuck.
