Steps to Get Trade Platform to auto unload:

1. Have the Trade Platform set up on at least a Large Platform B with Medium Storage Trays.
2. Use the Trade Platform once.
3. Make sure your backpack has some empty slots and some scrap.
4. When the trade platform returns, use Shift+Click to quickly move half of the resources to your backpack.
5. Click on the blue scrap hologram to quickly move scrap from your backpack to the trade platform.
6. Activate the Trade Platform again and it will auto unload the resources to storage.

Other facts about Trade Platforms:
1. It doesn't requires power or a platform to work.
2. It will always return.
3. If you reload or the game crashes while the platform is in space, it will return compound once you load your save file.
