Astroneer's new Biofuel Obtainment Operation (B.O.O.) Halloween event is here and we are so excited to show you how we got the adorable Pum-kn shelter reward! This video showcases our automated Noxothane production setup. We won't sugar coat it, there are some hiccups in the setup but they can easily be managed without much of an issue.

The event spawns the new plant called a Cauldrangea that produces three types of gas when given Spookysquash samples and seeds from the Volatile Attactus and Elegant Spewflower. You can remove the top part of the Cauldrangeas and place them on tables or leave them on the floor. They don't need power to work so you can place them anywhere you feel is best

Behind our Automated Noxothane Production setup is our Spookysquash, Volatile Attactus and Elegant Spewflower farm. Having a farm of each plant required for this event helps to make harvesting samples and seeds much quicker. We also really love the cute faces on the Spookysquashs and have set some of them up around our base for decoration!

The setup is broken down into 2 units; one being the main setup with the Cauldrangeas and 4 Auto Arms. The other being the Auto Arms connected to a Gas Canister and RTG. These 2 units must be separated to work properly. Do not plug them into each other! The RTG is there to power the 2 Auto Arms in the second unit only! Now, let's get down to the layout:

We have 4 Cauldrangeas setup on an Extra Large Platform C. We have 4 Auto Arms set up on 2 Large Platform A's with 2 Medium Silos on 2 Small Platform A's placed behind the Auto Arms. The silos have 24 slots available. We placed 12 Spewflower seeds, or half of the silo, and 12 Spookysquash samples on the other half for each silo. Each Auto Arm are rigged to grab only Spewflower seeds or Spookysquash samples. There are 2 for Spewflower seeds and 2 for Spookysquash samples. One of each type placed on each Platform A.

Make sure that all Auto Arms are placed precisely so they can reach the seeds/samples otherwise this setup will not work correctly! The most important part of this setup is the Power Switch we have set to control power to these 4 Auto Arms. Make sure the main unit has no other power other than what's coming through from the Power Switch.

From here is the second unit. We have 2 more Auto Arms set up in front of the Cauldrangeas that are rigged to pick up the finished Noxothane gas from them. Behind the 2 Auto Arms is a Gas Canister on top of a Small Platform A. Behind this is an RTG on another Small Platform A. It's important to keep these setups into 2 separate units as to not accidentally send power to the 4 Auto Arms in the back. Controlling the power is essential to ensure that any duplicate seeds/samples are corrected before you end up accidentally making Squasholine! These are the 2 units we have set for the Noxothane production.

Turn on the Power switch to begin the production! Make sure to keep your cursor close to the Power Switch to turn it off in a moments notice. This ensures the ability to correct any duplicate seeds or samples on the Cauldrangeas. Once everything is done, switch off the power and begin the plant harvesting process all over again!
