15Atari is acquiring Nightdive Studios, known for remasters of classic games like Quake and Doom 64. Atari plans to enrich its owned IP library, use Night Dive’s proprietary technology, and utilize their publishing capabilities to support Atari’s retro-focused growth strategy. Atari hopes Nightdive will help with future remasters, calling out their Kex engine, which enhances and improves upon original titles. CEO Wade Rosen says Night Dive’s expertise and track record in commercializing retro IP align well with Atari’s strategy. The acquisition follows the release of Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration, a retro game collection.
