Atari Inc. was founded in Sunnyvale, California on 27th June 1972 by Nolan Bushell and Ted Dabney, it was named after a move in the Japanese board game Go. The brand became synonymous with video gaming in the 70's and 80's and it was the VCS (2600) console that made Atari a household name. Of course they were also responsible for many classic arcade games over the years some of which I'm showcasing here. Sadly, the company was closed and its assets split in 1984 as a direct result of the North American video game crash of 1983....
