ATARI JAGUAR EMULATION and LAUNCHBOX INTEGRATION... Thanks to Rich Whitehouse!
In many ways, Emulation has become a way of preserving the games of yesterday. Especially on systems where the developers have long aince gone or there is no backwards compatibility options on modern consoles. Even then in cases such as original Playstation games on modern systems, emulation is used.
There is a thriving community of retro gamers who use emulation on the web, although the legal implications are questionable in some instances. However in the case of the Atari Jaguar I personally believe that emulation is the only way you are going to experience the system without large amounts of money because the the system's rarity.
However Atari Jaguar has proven really hard to emulate over the years, where games have experienced glitches, frame rate slow down etc. That is until now
Over the past few months, several videos have been shared surrounding Rich Whitehouse bigPEmu, a brilliantly interactive Atari Jaguar emulator which works with nearly 100% of the games and integrates with launchbox. I wanted to try this for myself so decided to document my experiences.
