Atari was the clear dominator of home video game consoles in the "Golden Age" (1977-1982). However, it wasn't for lack of competition. Many companies threw their hats into the ring, such as toy makers such as Mattel, Coleco, and Milton Bradley as well as other computer companies, such as Fairchild, Bally, and Magnavox. In this video, I compare the Atari Video Computer System (2600) with their first major competitor, the Mattel Intellivision.
